Heritage Zoo

Craig and I have lived in the Prescott area three years this week. We have had some amazing wonderful, funny, interesting, hard, and eventful times here. There are many things I HATE about this place I call home. I hate the snakes, lizards, lack of grass and being so far from my family! On the other hand, there are many things I LOVE. I love the mild weather all year round, the down to earth people I have gotten to know and love, the small town feel. I love how Prescott has so many different looks... the huge ponderosa pine forrest, the Granite Dells, 5 lakes and yes, even the prairie land! We have been so blessed in Prescott and I'm so lucky to live here! (Although I'll always be a Utah girl!!!)

Yesterday we went to the Heritage Zoo and it was an unexpected surprise. Craig had meetings and presentations in the morning but the afternoon he had off. So I thought it would be fun to take Brielle to the zoo after all it's 10 minutes away, and after 3 years of living here we have never been. It ended up being one of the best days! No one was there! The weather was perfect and because its such a small zoo the animals are literally within arms reach! However, what made it an unforgettable day was Brielle! She was totally absorbing everything! She would wave to all the animals "Hiiiiii deeeaarr", "Hiiiii biiiirdddeee". She was loving it! It really is so fun to experience new things with her. I just had the best day spending it with the people I love the most!

My mom has some mad skills! While we were in Utah she fixed Brielle's hair! I loved how it looked but it made me sad because it made my baby look older! My mom is so talented! She really can do everything! She is very creative, full of service, funny, kind, hard working.... the list is endless! I really hope I can grow up to be like my mommy! I better start practicing french braids!

Craig and I were able to go to Carrie Underwood's concert this week! I bought the tickets online months ago, we were both looking forward to a fun date night out on the town! We were going to go to a nice restaurant and really just enjoy the night! Well.... wrong turn, after wrong turn, we ended up running late. I was starving because I didn't eat lunch (saving room for a delicious dinner). We saw that there were some places to eat by the Jobing arena so we thought we could hurry and grab a quick bite. All the eating establishments had over an hour wait so we were about ready to give up when Craig walked into Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, and asked how long the wait was. Sure enough the wait was an hour and a half but, we could order from the bar. So after watching a wonderful conference, we went in to the bar and ordered dinner. It was not that good I wouldn't recommend it, however, it filled the hole and by that point thats all we cared about! We ate as fast as we could and walked over to the arena ready to let loose :). Sons of Silvia were the first to perform, not a fan! Then Billy Currington opened, he was soo good. I now kinda have a crush on him even if he has scruff, curly hair, and looks like he needs a shower! At last Carrie came on and of course she was fabulous! She looked gorgeous, her stage was awesome and she can SING!!! My favorite part was right after she sang "Jesus Take The Wheel" she broke out into "How Great Thou Art", she had tears and it was so powerful! I loved it! Even though the night started off a little rough it was so fun just hanging out with my best friend!

I swear I put on make up before I left the house... I'm not sure where it went!

I can't believe that my baby girl turned one! It makes me sad to think that she is growing up and that she will never be my baby again. However I am loving the fun stage she is in! She is a master at unrolling toilet paper, emptying mommy's drawers, calling random people on my phone, and singing at the top of her lungs! She is close to walking she will take 3 or 4 steps but prefers to crawl. Brielle is getting really good at talking random gibberish and I really wish I could understand her because she is so animated as she talks! She waves to everyone, and I have to say it's the cutest thing in the world! There are no words that describe my love for my little princess! I an honestly say its been the best year of my life! Happy Birthday Brielle! Welove you!

Finding Emily Reunion

About a year or so ago my Aunt wrote a historic novel on my great great grandma Emily. I loved reading this book because I was able to learn more about my family and where I come from. Also while I read this book it made me realize how blessed I really am and how grateful I am that I live in todays time! I promise I would have not have survived! Anyways, while I was in Utah we drove up to Wyoming to have a "Finding Emily Reunion" and to see the places in the book and to learn even more of Emily.

This was Emily's first home when she moved to WY. She lost her husband and two children while living here... one of the many reasons I would not have survived!

I spent most of the month of June up in Utah with my family. I had so much fun and I was able to do so much while I was there. I just downloaded all of my pictures from my trip and I had over 1000 pictures... so here are just a few in a nut shell!

Brinley we love so much! She is my little brothers girlfriend and competed in the Miss Utah Pageant. She did amazing and I was so proud of her! Here is a picture of the shoe parade (the shoes were suppose to tell about your personality) Don't Brinley's rock? Oh you can't tell but they even sparkle.... I love them!!!

Family Tradition!

My family has a tradition that we do every year! We go up in the mountains of WY the day after thanksgiving and we cut down our Christmas tree. We all get bundled up and we spend the day hunting for the "perfect" tree, sledding behind the car, drinking hot coco and eating leftover turkey sandwiches. After we find the winner we strap it on top of the expedition and make our way back to UT. We really do look like the Griswalds! We have been doing this my whole life and it really is one of my favorite traditions!

So Craig's Office dressed up all Halloween week, I went in to meet Craig for lunch and this is what I saw! A office full of NERDS! Craig even put braces on for the day. Needless to say I was a little embarrassed to go to lunch with him!

We had some friends over to carve pumpkins, I didn't have the right supplies for pumpkin carving so they were all carved with stake knifes, and dug out with normal dull spoons. Everyone was good sports and now I will be smarter next year!

Oh but my favorite part of the trip was the gondola ride...so romantic! Over all the trip was pure bliss!

I'm sure anyone that has ever been pregnant knows that the last month is miserable! Not only are you not sure your body can take another day of it but it's the UNKOWN that kills me the most! Last week I had my Dr's appointment and we agreed that she would induce me a week early if I hadn't already had her, then she checked me and told me that I was dilated to a 4 and I would not need to be induced early. So I went home with a skip in my step thinking that I would have her anytime. Well one week later and still no signs of baby. So now all I can do is wait! Ahh! I hate it! I have even tried all kinds of the wives tales pineapple, spicy food, swimming, long walks, last night I even took my quad out. Still nothing! I have no idea how much longer, but lets all hope its sooner then later!

I love love! There is nothing sweeter then seeing 2 people in love! Ryan and Brittany looked so beautiful kneeling across the alter from each other, and the look in their eyes was so tender and loving. The sealing was beautiful and just reminded me how grateful I am for temples and eternal marriage! Everything about their day was perfect and I am so happy for them!

This last month has been a busy one! We bought a new home and moved out of our rental! Its going to be lots of work, with 2 acres that need to be landscaped but I love it! We painted some rooms, epoxy the garage floor, there has just been project after project. I will post some pictures of our home later when there aren't boxes in the middle of the floor! With all that has been going on it was nice to take a trip to San Diego with Craig's family for his brother Ryan's wedding. We had such a great time! San Diego wasn't as warm as I was hoping the beach was pretty cold but I still got some sun, so all is good!

Last week Craig had an Orthodontic conference in Boston. I decided not to go because he was going to be in class all day while he was there. However didn't want to stay home alone, so while he was gone I decided to go visit my sister in San Antonio. After the conference Craig was able to come to Texas and spend a few days before heading back to work! We packed the days to get in as much

fun as we could!

Baby Young!

Most of you know that Craig and I are expecting a little baby in August! We are so excited! We seriously could not be happier! It makes me laugh because Craig tells EVERYONE! Even strangers at Wal Mart, he is just so excited! I went to my Dr.'s appointment on Monday and it was so fun! My Dr took a ultrasound and it's so amazing to see a little baby, and hear it's heartbeat. It made the whole thing seem more real! Now I just can't wait to find out the gender...and let the shopping begin!

Okay so I just made this baby ticker, and I don't like it! It makes me depressed, 199 days to go. That seems like a lifetime away!

I know, I know, it has been forever since my last post! January is just one of those month... cold, grey, and not a lot going on. I was just cleaning up my computer and I thought I would share Craig's new logo I found while dejunkin my computer!

This is the logo for Craig's office! I never knew how hard it was trying to pick a logo, I mean a logo gives the feel to the whole office! After many proofs this is what Craig picked! I love it!

Christmas...a little late!

It was so much fun to be home for Christmas!

My dad dressed up as santa for my SIL's family party and this was him with Jax, Kenna, Cheyna, and Cam when he got home.

We played hard everyday we were there! Some of my favorite things were...Spending time with my family, eating lots of treats, ice skating, cuddling by the fireplace watching "Its A Wonderful Life", watching my nieces and nephews open presents, bowling with the WHOLE Field family, and hearing Cam's farewell talk. Hope everyone has a great 2009!

New Orleans!

Craig and his brother Ryan had a orthodontic meeting in New Orleans this last week. I was able to go along and so was Ryan's fiance Brittany. Everything was planned and paid for us, and we were treated like royalty! We ate at the nicest restaurants I have ever been to in my life! I know I had to gain at least 5 lbs....we ate so much! We saw some of the devastation of hurricane Katrina, it still looks like it could have happened last week, so sad! Bourbon street was an eye full...its worse than Vegas! Also it is the most dangerous city in America and has more murders and theft then anywhere else. SCARY! While Craig and Ryan were in meetings Brittany and I caught a cab and went off exploring on our own (not very smart)! We thought we were safe because it was mid day, but we were wrong, lots of scary things!!! Over all it was a great trip and we had a blast!

Craig and I were able to spend Thanksgiving in New Mexico with his family. All of his siblings were there together and it was such a great time! We had a beautiful meal with lots of food, conversation and love!

We LOVE games and a Young family favorite is "Scumbucket"! Every time we get together we play this! Goofy but I love it!

So this is not only for me its for all of us that... close doors and cupboards we didn't open, vacuum crumbs we didn't make, wash dishes that we didn't use, wash and iron cloths that we don't own, make amazing dinners day after day, pay all the bills, stay within a budget and not by the amazing shoes that are on sale, and all the other things we do daily.....and never complain:)! This year for Halloween Craig sponsored "Malloween". There was a great turn out and we had so much fun seeing all the kids dressed up!

I wanted to go home to visit because I miss Utah fall weather! However, when I got there I didn't miss it after all:) It was freezing!!! We had so much fun and we were able to do lots, and as always it was sad to leave!

Today Craig is working and I am just trying to keep myself entertained, so I was looking at all of our pictures he has on his computer of this last year. WOW!!! I can't believe everything that has happened and how much our life has changed. So I thought that I would summarize our year for our first "real blog"....
December 2006~ One year ago Craig took me to Layton Park and he proposed. It was even better than my dreams! He did such a cute job, and he actually surprised me! We then celebrated Christmas with my family in Utah, which was lots of fun because every member of my family was there to spend Christmas eve night...in matching PJ's!
January 2007~ I think I must have been in la la land on a high because I can't remember anything that happened that month. I think Craig spent that month going back and forth from Denver to Utah.
February~We were getting so sick of the whole long distance relationship thing! Counting down the days till our wedding. The big bummer was we didn't even get to spend Valentines together, however Craig sent me an amazing bouquet of flowers..... I mean he didn't.
March~ On the 17th we were sealed in the Salt Lake temple! That was an unforgettable experience! The day couldn't have been any better. Both of our families were there, my groom was picture perfect, the weather was awesome, and it really was an amazing day! We then honeymooned to Cancun Mexico and that was a little less than perfect. Our baggage was lost, our flight home was delayed with a layover in Arizona, which made us 15 minutes late for our reception in New Mexico. Craig's family did a great job with that reception it was so nice and every detailed perfected. Then life got crazy for me, I moved to Aurora Colorado and left everything familiar to me behind.
April~ Craig was super busy studying for his last board exams! Later that month I started working at CU Ortho department (which was nice cause I got to see Craig lots more!)
May~We got our baggage back from our honeymoon with not much left in it.
June~More poopy school and work.
July~More poopy school and work. Our home was not selling. Oh snap.
August~We went back to Utah for my brother Briant and Stephanie's wedding. Stephanie looked beautiful just like a barbie. It was a really nice day however their reception was rained out.
September~We took a trip down to Arizona and that month Craig signed on a practice in Prescott. That was pretty scary because we signed away seven years of our life. When they asked for my signature my hands were shaking so bad, it took all I had to stay on the line!
October~ Both Craig and I have sisters in Texas and we were able to take a trip down to visit them. It was lots of fun to see how fast all of our cute little nieces and nephews grow, and it breaks our heart that we don't live closer.
November~ On the 29th Craig completed his 10 years of school and graduated from orthodontic school! It was great! I swear he isn't going to know what to do with himself! Who cares about school.... Craigs little doggy and love of his life "Widdo Bear" died. :( (Craig added that)
December~ We ended up renting a home in Prescott Valley its really nice however it is orange and navy blue with a southwest flare that's not quit my style. Craig is working with his brother Ryan until we figure out what will work best for him while the practice in Prescott is being built up. Everyday its a new plan. I really can't keep up! Lots to do with lots of decisions but good opportunities!
As I look back on the year I can't believe how much the Lord has blessed us! We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!!!!
